Helpful Harlie

Since we moved to our new apartment, there has been lots for a curious and very helpful kitty to do. As you can see, my eyes are always very wide open to make sure I don't miss any opportunities to be of great help!

If you are going to be any help, it's important to know exactly what tools you have and where to find them. That way when Mom or Dad says "Where did that screwdriver go?" or "I need the hammer", you can respond quickly and efficiently.

Also, Mom and Dad lead very busy lives, so it's up to me to make regular inspections. We did not have this kind of magical machine in our last apartment. It requires a lot of inspections, though I have learned that it is better to go in for a closer look after it has cleaned the dishes. If you go in before and sit like I am in this picture, you are likely to get wet when Mom puts the rinsed dishes in. However, I forget that lesson on a regular basis and only remember after it's too late.

Hi Mattingly & Harley,

We're just getting caught up on everyone's blogs and we're so sorry we missed your birhtday, Mattingly. Happy Belated Birthday. Mom shook her head and groaned when she read the part about 'rush hour' and 'Queensboro Bridge'. She says something about 'long ago and far away'. Well anyway, we're glad that you had a good birthday weekend and are really happy for you in your new apartment.

We have one of those, too, but Olivia broke into the adjoining cupboard shortly after Mom installed it and she shredded the insulation on it. I guess Olivia thought it was just a great big old cat toy in a weird place.

I'm glad you inspected the dishwasher...those things are very odd and dangerous I think, you were very brave!

Harlie, I am very proud of you for being so helpful. I think girls can work tools, too. Just be careful around the electric nail gun. A screwdriver and hammer should be safe though.

You are a great supervisor! I love the dish washie thing. When Momma pulls the bottom drawer out, I jump in and sit there and it's super hard to get me out without squishing me. You should try it. Whee!

Love,
Tazo

Dad calls us "big helpers" when we help with the dishwasher and tool box.

Way to go Harlie!
