Christmas 2005: A Tail of two Beds

I thought it was about time that I wrote about my first Christmas. I know I'm a little behind, but better late than never! One of my Grammas came to stay with us for Christmas. I have more than one Gramma, so we will call this one Gramma A. Well I first met Gramma A. in November when she came for a visit. I'm not much for visitors, so it took me awhile at first, but then I would be in the same room with her. I was more comfortable at Christmas, and even let her touch me once! So we had Christmas with her. And she brought me presents! Take a look:

First I got this whole bag of goodies!

The pink mousie is my favorite of the bunch so far.

And she got me these really yummy treats! She said it's her job to spoil her only grandchild... I think that's me!! I was so appreciative of these gifts that I let her pet me!

Now comes the story of the beds. Two days before Christmas, Mom and Dad took away the old couches, then some strange men came and brought some new furniture with them! I was glad when they left because they scared me. But even after they were gone I stayed under the bed for awhile, because I just don't like new things. And the whole living room was new! There was lots more stuff in it than there used to be, and Mom and Dad kept moving it around and around and around... finally they got it set, but everything still smelled funny. Anyway, what I didn't realize at first was that they had bought a new big piece of furniture for ME!! It's called a re-cline-er. Sometimes I let Dad sit in it, but mostly it's mine... SEE??

It's a perfect fit for me. With just a little room left for growing!

Anyway, I think they wanted this new bed to be a surprise for me, so they got me a gag gift as well. They tried to tell me that THIS was my new bed... HA!!!:

I'm supposed to do what with this?

I played along for a little bit and even gave them the satisfaction of thinking they had me fooled. This one picture was to appease them.

Mostly, this is how I act around the leopard bed though.

Fortunately it didn't take me to long to figure out their little joke, and now everyone knows where to find me... on my nice comfy green bed. And what do I do with my leopard bed? Keep my toys in it of course!! I mean, which would you choose???

That was very nice of them. Mom bought me my couch a long time ago so maybe I need to talk to her about getting me a re-cline-er.

Yes, keep your toys in the leopard bed and sleep in your recliner where you can really relax.

Cool Mattingly. That's a very nice green bed you've got there. The leopard bed is a nice place to keep your toys too. Must be it's really a toy box and not a bed. Beans get confused about these things easily, but we have to forgive them cuz they're not smart as us cats.

You're so lucky to have gotten that new big bed! It looks so-o-o-o comfy.

wow - nice green bed. we asked mommy to buy us each one and she just laughed and said there's no room for 4 re-cline-ers. so we told her to buy a bigger house.

Wow you gots lots of room to sleep and stretch. Even when you get bigger.

But the leopard bed is good too, just as a backup.

We have a couch that reclines. I likes to sit on one end, mum on the other. Plus sometimes I sits on the parts where she rests her feet when they are up.

I've got Mom's re-clin-er. She has to keep a blankie on the seat now because she got tired of brushing the cat hair off or finding it all over her butt after she got up! -Scooby

Cool toys! I'd choose the big bed too! That other LOOKS like it's supposed to hold the toys!
